INSTALLATIONS
Built for a room, a context, a moment. Wager's installations are site-specific propositions -- assembled on-site, calibrated to the space, and inseparable from it. The work and the place complete each other.
Box Tower I - Inspired by my desire to save and repurpose vintage wooden boxes that were salvaged from numerous local barns. - Two of these Box Towers were displayed at the Albany Center Gallery in a solo exhibition of my work. - Curator - Jackie Weaver - Stacked and secured vintage wooden boxes, vintage tools, drift wood. - 11’ x 6’ x 6’. 2012-4

Detachment - Inspired by the fragmentation of the soul when having to continuously travel for employment. This piece was installed in the Fulton Street Gallery, Troy, NY in 2012. Wall and floor piece. Vintage wooden bin, steel filings, shoes, 4 wall relief sculptures, metal, clock cabinet, wood pattern pieces, bronze, welded steel. Overall dimensions 12’x 4’ x 4’. 2001.
Domestic Withdrawal / Multitasking - Inspired by doing required mundane tasks while dreaming to escape. This installation is still under construction. Vintage metal window frame, vintage pots & pans, tea kettle, copper sink, modeled clay masks. ( Mary Pat & Dianne Applin modeled clay masks of each other) clay tiles. Overall wall and hanging from ceiling 12’ x 9’ x 9’. 2010.

Heavy Laden - Inspired by the pandemic of 2019 and the overarching fear and anxiety of that time period. Yet to be publicly displayed. Self - portrait with flame monument, vintage scale, wall sculpture with bones, rocks, steel, cylinder caps, cast stainless steel. Overall - 16’ x12’ x 12’. 2019-21.
Summons - Inspired by the concept of being required to attend a hearing or summoned to appear before an authority. Yet to be publicly displayed. Vintage industrial auger, deconstructed propane tanks, vintage metal chairs, chain, cast stainless, rocks, metal, vintage shoe molds. 12’ x 10’ x 14’. 2012.
