Made for specific places. Wager's outdoor work responds to landscape, light, scale and site conditions -- sculptures that don't sit in the environment so much as enter into dialogue with it.

Cycle - This piece was created for a call for “Artist’s Toys” by the Rice gallery at the Albany Institute of History & Art. I created three similar, yet distinct, cycles. The work evokes my childhood love of bicycle riding and the pride associated with the streamers attached to the handlebars. Dimensions are 65” x 60” x 88”. I used steel from cow stanchions and stainless steel strips of steel for the streamers. 1987.

Freeze Flow - This sculpture explores the dynamic contrast between the implied, organic flow of molten steel and rigid, geometric forms. A river rock is incorporated to accentuate this visual dialogue. Cast stainless & mild steel, rock. 71” x 15” x 12” . Created in 2008
